Kenyan team, Report Taka, emerged as the winners of AngelHack's first hackathon in Africa. The winners were announced during the Nairobi Tech Week, a new tech event series where leading companies in the tech industry as well as local startups showcased what their coders are doing.
AngelHack announced the winner through Twitter: "Congratulations to our winners- the FIRST EVER CHAMPIONS of AngelHack #AH9 - Report Taka!!" tweeted @AngelHack.
According to a post published on AngelHack's official website the hackathon is a global event in partnership with Amazon Web Services.
"Here at AngelHack, we are always stoked to be working with global sponsors. It gives everyone around the world the chance to work with the same resources and tools! So we get to see a boat load of dope innovative tech coming from all corners of the globe!" the post read.
"That being said we are stoked to be working with Amazon Web Services! Their challenge this year for all of you is to simply use AWS resources in the best way possible! The winners at each event AWS is Keynoting will receive an Amazon Fire TV (1 per team member)." it continued.
Every single participant in all of AngelHack's series events will receive the following:
